Buddy Reading with Room 0
Room Four students buddy read with the younger students in Room Zero every Monday and Tuesday. This is part of our tuakana / teina relationship within the school. The younger and older students enjoy reading together. It is beneficial for both classes of students. The Year 3 / 4 students have the opportunity to celebrate and share their published writing with a younger audience as well as choose then read fluently with their buddy. The younger students practise reading their words, phonic sounds and books to their older buddies and really enjoy listening to the stories read to them. It demonstrates our school hoe of manaakitanga, kaha, tu maia, and whananaungatanga.
