Te Moana's Pet and Flower Show Day
We had a fantastic Pet Show Day last Friday. Throughout the week we had planned creative articles to create such as sand saucers, vaseline saucers, aqua jars, wild flower and grasses decorations and hunting out some unusual containers to arrange flowers in. Beforehand some of us had produced some some needlework by making oven cloths. On Thursday we made gingerbread men and we decorated them with a variety of edible goodies. Some of us also made some amazing tasty truffles.

Gala Day Video
W.A.L.T. create a video using trailer on our i-pad. We had to ensure that we spelt all our words correctly the first time as it is tricky and time wasting to correct them. We had some of our photos deleted about our Gala day which was really disappointing but any way our creative learning was more about the process rather than the final product. The most important thing was that our class learnt so much about creating products to sell for profit at our Gala. We made $670 which was FANTASTIC for our camp to Cooper's Beach later in the month.

90 Mile Beach
I have been learning to use Book Creator to write a story on my chromebook. I learnt how to add pictures and text. I learnt how to record my voice and add it to the page on my story. I found it easy at some points and hard at some points.

Teina /Tuakana Buddy Writing
On Monday we all wrote a reader with our buddies. We had a list of the words that they could read and learnt about the structure of the text they are able to read. We both had fun together inserting images to support our younger buddies reading, as we do not need pictures now to help us read our novels. Our buddies loved their stories choosing them to their normal home readers. It is amazing how much we have learnt to read in three years.

We are learning about apologizing for stealing things that do not belong to you and not taking other people’s things in the first place. We used puppets for our characters. In life we need to make better relationships.

W.A.L.T. understand relationships and use puppets to show what our relationship was about. Imogen and I created a puppet show called “Keep Your Hands to Yourself”. It was about teaching people to not hurt each other and not touch other people at all when they don’t want to be touched by not invading their space. Also how to get along with each other. If you are kind and caring you will have more friends. Next time I am going to try to make it in 30 secs. I found it frustrating trying to create a video in such a short time.
Relationship Presentation using Lego "It's Cool to Help!"
W.A.L.T. express their ideas, needs, wants, and feelings appropriately and listen sensitively to other people and affirm them. We learnt to help each other, we also learnt that you should do it very often. Our title is the mighty battle. My characters are Knight one and Knight two. My presentation with lego is about to help each other.

Super, Duper Māori
On an action packed day (Wednesday,) Te Moana lined up like the flash. Since it was the start of the day, the time was nine o’clock. We headed out the door and like a balloon we popped up in the whare. Mrs Lindsay forgot that she would show us a video of the special Kapa Haka kids performing. It was Te Reo language week so each teacher set up a little maori game, quiz and more.
We had groups of people throughout the school my group was karaka tahi! First we walked into Te Moana and we repeated māori sentences and what maori words match up with pictures. That was one out of two because I had two favourites. My favourite bit was that In the group I got most of the maori pictures correct..
The next game we played was with our Principal Mrs Lindsay. She took the idea from another teacher. We played bingo with numbers in Māori. We had bottle caps and those were the things that we put on our sheet if we had a number on it that mrs lindsay called out. My favourite part of the bingo was that everybody was having fun and caring for each other even thow I was a little bit competitive.
Another fun game that we played was with whaea Roni and Alisha ( Kapa Haka teachers ). First we did e- rere- taku-poi, you guessed it!, with a poi. Afterwards we practised how to do some cool moves with the poi, which was my second favourite game. I liked how we got to practise e- rere- taku-poi.
The last game I was able to do before the bell rang was labeling māori objects. We had to draw a picture and label the objects in the picture with the maori word for the object. I drew a moon, mountain and fish. That activity was short because the morning tea bell rang before I even got to label my drawing, but other than that that activity was fun. My favourite bit was that we got to draw amazing pictures.
Then it came to an end and there was no more activities and games to play but in the end it was fun but I would stick to doing a normal programme in the morning and I’m lucky that it's only a week. It was a great experience and I learnt so much. It was fun as. Kapai!
Kaavin and Calais' Relationships Presentation-Don't Be Selfish"
Don’t be selfish
W.A.L.T. - we were learning about not being selfish and we made a puppet show about sharing with new people. When we did our puppet show I was nervous, then we did our show, we did it for exactly 30 seconds. I made my puppet show with Calais. Next time I will need to speak louder so that you can hear me better on the video.
Zara and Nikara's Relationship
I.A .L.T. be thankful for who you are. We are learning that everybody is unique in their own ways, that we need to appreciate others In life. we need to make great relationships with others, individually and in classes.
