Whare runanga

On 2nd June Room 0, 3 and 4 students visited the Whare Runanga as motivation for their inquiry unit about the "marae." Matua Mori taught us so much about the whare but we could also feel how special it was to be in such a special place.

Room 0, 3 and 4 have Fun at the Park

After we had visited the Whare Runanga and Waka at the Treaty Grounds we played co-operatively at the park on the way back to school.

Our Term 2 Assembly 10th June

We were supposed to run assembly on 3rd June but because of all the building at school especially the whare roof it was postponed for a week, so now we will be having it on Matariki Day.

Matariki -By Lilli-Rose and Jade

We celebrated Matariki at school on the 10th of June. As the weather was so wet and windy we did not begin school at 6:00 in the morning. We all had to work with our buddies and read and do some research about Matariki.

Water Safety

In Term One Room 4 participated in six Water Safety lessons. We learnt so many ways to keep safe in the water together. We learnt to work together and support all our friends so that we were safe together. Hopefully we won't ever have to use these skills, but if we do we will know what to do and how to support anyone we are with.

Caramel Corn and Marshmallow Milo

We have been writing Simile Poems, so after a shared lunch entree we wrote some poems describing our yummy treats

Caramel Popcorn
As crunchy as crackers
As bumpy as rocks
As tasty as toffee
As sweet as sugar
As sticky as glue
As fluffy as feathers
As poppy as bubbles
As crispy as chips
As yummy as caramel

Marshmallow Milo
As hot as a pot
As tasty as chocolate
As sweet as a rose
As fluffy as a milk shake
As milky as milky bars
As chocolatey as kit kats
As squishy as jelly
It melted as quickly as lava
