Matariki Whanau Day 2017

Te Moana began their Matariki Day at the beach at Paihia and were ever so fortunate to be able to see the seven matariki stars shinning in the sky. We then had a shared breakfast with friends and whanau at school before we relaxed in the classroom before the rest of the class arrived later at school. during the day we created amazing art pictures that are to be displayed in our whare. Harko Brown came to school and shared some weaving, poi games and another game to strengthen our muscles and co-ordination in teams. Before our scrumptuous delicious shared lunch we each planted some trees and shrubs between our bike track and creek to encourage birds to visit our kura. As one of our pupils was going back to Europe, namely Germany, then Canada for a holiday, we enjoyed some yummy cupcakes that he and his Mum had made to celebrate his birthday that was on our Whanau Day.
