Mikaila's Speech--"Should we Wear Uniforms to School?"

Should we have Uniforms at school?
Mikaila

I like to wear uniforms because when we wake up we don’t have to get up and find some clothes to wear.

Firstly, We look the same. We are smart in those uniforms and  we look cool in uniforms. We won’t get lost on a trip if we look the same. We feel like a team, class or school if we are the same.

Secondly, we can be proud of our uniform. They are easy to wash.

Thirdly, uniforms are cheaper and we can share them. We don’t have to spend too much money on other clothes.

Fourthly, children behave better in uniforms. We learn better if we do not worry about our clothes. Uniforms stop some bullying.
As our school motto is “Together we learn...blah, blah, blah, we should have the same uniform so we feel dressed the same together.

Gail's Speech -- Should we attend the Closest to School?

Should we attend the Closest to School?
Gail
I think we don’t have to attend the closest school. I want and love going to the school that was closest to my house when Nana was alive. All my special friends are at Paihia School.
Firstly I live close to my family. I’m also close   to my  friends to and it not far to drive to my nana.     Children have some time to play when they wait for their parents  to arrive. Also you can help teachers after school while you are waiting.
Secondly in my class there are clever children who challenge me to work harder. I am trying to be the best student I can be. At paihia School there is no roaming around as we are busy playing games and getting fit. There are cooler teachers here. At the other school lots of teachers leave and so there is too much change.
Thirdly you get bullied at the school nearest to my house. At this school my teacher does not let other people bully me. At the closest school other students get very upset when other children bully them.

Lastly some people run home if you live close to school. For an example other children bully people it makes them upset and run home if you live close.
To conclude your parents don’t have to walk you to school.

Should We Have Art? Lucas's Argument

Should we have Art?

Yes, we should have art.

Art has been created since time began.

Firstly, art makes us complete human beings. We have to do

science, maths, writing as well as art. Art is good for our

health, it makes us use our mind and body.

Secondly, art is communication we can express and share

information and ideas. Art tells stories like Ancient

civilisations like cave men, Aztecs and Romans have shared

the way they lived through art.

Thirdly, if we are good artists we can make heaps of money.

I want to create cartoons, movies and books when I grow up.

To conclude I think art is not a waste of time because its fun

and I love sharing stories through art.

Thank you for listening to my speech.

Jack's Speech Argument "Chromebooks for Year Three Students"

Hello my name is Jack and my speech is about
Should Year 3 students at Paihia School Have Their Own Chromebooks?
I think yes, year 3’s should have their own chromebooks to use in class time. I am a year 3 and I am old enough to use other technology at home & at school so I want to convince you why it  would be a good idea for all year 3’s.

Firstly I think that year 3’s should have chromebooks in class time because when you make a mistake a little red line appears so you know that you have spelt the word wrong. I have learnt that all you need to do is go to the top of the page and click on tools and the right word comes up in a box on the side of your page.  When you do this you learn how to spell the word properly.   When a green line comes up under your words it means you have to change your words around because they don’t make sense.  That’s a lot of good learning!!

Secondly chromebooks can be used for learning  information that you’ve never knew before.  Paihia schools library isn’t a good place to get serious information from, we need lots of interesting information to help us with our learning and our writing.  If we don’t have our own chromebooks we can’t get as much interesting information to finish our work.  If we could go to Google we could find out anything that we needed to finish our work so that our teachers would be very impressed with us.

Thirdly Chromebooks have lots of different programs like google slides, we can use this for our school assemblies. You could show good slides about work you are doing in your class.  What if your assembly is about Matariki, you could make your show on google slides and because your writing isn’t scruffy like it might be on a piece of paper everyone will understand it and be able to see it on the big screen.
To Conclude I think that chromebooks should be allowed for every year 3 students in every school in New Zealand.

I hope YOU enjoyed my speech and have a terrific week!!!!!!!

Are chromebooks a waste of time? Calais's Speech

Are chromebooks a waste of time? Calais

I think we should have Chrome books at school because you can learn a lot from the chrome books.
I am learning to put my stories on the chromebook.
I am also learning to put in bullet points for my lists.
Secondly my buddy is teaching me how to go on google slides and now I am learning to put question marks in my work while using Kingston's chromebook.
Thirdly we can fix our writing on our chromebooks easily.

It is fun wrtting on a chromebook.

Thank you for listening to my speech.

Marks Speech "Should We Have a Bike Park?"

Should we have a Bike Park?
I think we should have a bike park.
Firstly we have fun! I like to play on my bike. I can go fast. We can have races.
Secondly, we all like getting outside to ride a bike. I can go around and I can go up and down.
Thirdly bikes make me strong.Bikes make your muscles strong and big. Bikes give you good exercise.
To conclude we should have our bike track at Paihia School. Thank you for listening to my speech.
