Jade, Franky, Mere and Jamie commented that the popcorn needed some butter to make it taste better.
Liam and Mere commented that we should have made rainbow popcorn.
Mikaila and Lilli-Rose commented that the popcorn needed some chocolate melted onto it.

Golf at School

Golf by Dale and Jamie Paul is a super golf coach. He brought some great equipment for us to learn how we play golf. Really good golfers can earn lots of money. We learnt to point our feet at the tee. We learnt how to hold a club with two hands. We were “not” allowed to throw the ball at the target. The lowest score in golf wins. We are so “HAPPY” that you let us play golf with you. We are really looking forward to our next lesson next week.

Little Red Hen

Little Red Hen.
 Characters in the Play
 Reader is Lucas
Little Red Hen is Arohaina
Duck is Jamie
Dog is Liam
Pig is Mikaila
We acted a play for young Year 0, 1, 2 and 3 student at our school. We had to organise the actors parts, our costumes, the setting, props and masks for the characters. We learnt how to learn our parts off by heart. We learnt to practice reading with phrasing, fluency and using our voices like the characters. It also helped us practice reading silently to ourselves while the other actors were reading and saying their parts. The audience really loved our play.

Jamie's Speech "Should we have Phones at Paihia School?"

Hello my  name is Jamie and my speech is
About
Should we have Phones at Paihia School?

Firstly I think we should have phones Paihia School so we can ring Mum, Dad, Aunty, Uncle and Nana.  We could text someone if we wanted too.
Secondly we could take photos on our phones to learn about things.
Thirdly we could find out things on the internet if we had phones. We could see the weather and see if we could play rugby.
To finish I think we should have phones at school so we can use them to learn more.

Treasure Island Maps by Lucas, Jamie and Jade

Today we read "Treasure Island." We enjoyed reading the story. We had fun speaking like pirates when we had to read what the pirates were saying in "pirate voices" using the punctuation marks. We had to make a pirate treasure map and mark the spot where the treasure was hidden with a X.

Tiny owl and the Prickly Plant

Today our reading groups were learning to present a play to the class using phrasing, intonation and expression. We can read the text silently when someone else is reading their part in the play.
