Kowhaiwhai Designs Evie

The kowhaiwhai Designs.  

The kowhaiwhai designs are the patterns on the rafters up the top. The colours that they  used were white, black and red. They are the ribs. They are not carvings but they are koru maori designs. The designs look like  they are painted. The designs are on the roof representing ribs and joining the carvings on each side on the walls.
